Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. In her early Broadway role, she was her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh has worked on projects with award-winning directors, actors, and producers throughout the course of her professional career. Ashford's next venture will be a limited-edition Hulu series titled Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show premieres on November 22, and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford currently works on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. The film will be aired on Disney DTC as an Hulu Original. In March of 2023 Ashford will return to Broadway and star opposite Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This show will be directed by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that produced Hamilton. Ashford was last seen as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the National Crisis, which saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as the central figure in the nation's first impeachment proceedings over 100 Years. Ashford starred for two seasons on the CBS hit comedy B Positive. Created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her role as Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Additional Broadway roles for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, with George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance she received the Tony Award nomination. Ashford is an Denver origins native, and now splits her time in Los Angeles.
